A priceless pink diamond sold for Rs 413 crore, broke all world records

In Hong Kong, a pink diamond sold for $4.99 million. If we calculate its value in Indian currency, then it will be around Rs. 413 crores. This pink diamond was auctioned by Sotheby’s Hong Kong. Although its price was not originally estimated so much, Pink Diamond made a new record in the auction. The 11.15-carat Williamson Pink Star diamond, which was auctioned by Sotheby’s Hong Kong, sold for 392 million Hong Kong dollars (US$499 million). Although originally its price was estimated at $21 million. The Williamson Pink Star was named after two legendary Pink Diamonds. The first Williamson diamond is 23.60 carats. It was given as a wedding gift to the late Queen Elizabeth II in 1947. At the same time, the second pink diamond is 59.60 carats. This record was sold for $712 million in the 2017 auction. Williamson Pink Star is the second largest pink diamond to come up for auction. Pink diamonds are the rarest and most precious of colored diamonds.

A few months ago, it was reported that some miners in Angola had discovered a pink diamond during excavation. It was believed that this diamond could be the largest pink diamond in the history of the last 300 years. This rare pink diamond was named The Lulo Rose because it was discovered in the Lulo mine. The Lulo mine is located in the northeast of Angola.
