Get ready to pay double airfare charges if you are planning to visit Goa ahead of the Independence Day weekend.

All the airlines companies have experiencing heavy surge with respect to the long Independence Day weekend, prices are almost double over the regular airfare charges. Here are some of the observations of the latest prices and their comparison with regular fare:

  • Chennai to Goa – around Rs. 13000 (regular fare around Rs. 5200)
  • Hyderabad to Goa – around Rs. 10000 (regular fare around Rs. 4200)
  • Mumbai to Goa – around Rs. 8500 (regular fare around Rs. 3500)
  • Bengaluru to Goa – around Rs. 9300 (regular fare around Rs. 4300)

Demand for tickets after Friday shows an upward trend as Raksha Bandhan will be celebrated on Thursday. Travelers are seemed to jump on the long weekend opportunity from Thursday to Monday to enjoy a quick break.  

Return flights after Goa also seemed to be doubled. Here are the two scenarios reported by people who already booked flights:

Goa to Delhi – around Rs. 10000 (regular fare around Rs. 6000)

Goa to Hyderabad – around Rs. 9500 (regular fare around Rs. 2500)

The same case is applicable to bus fares also. An air-conditioned vehicle is now charging around 2400 Rs. per seat instead of its regular charges of around 1200 Rs. per seat.
