‘All this is going on God’s will’, said former CM Digambar Kamat after leaving Congress and joining BJP in Goa

Former Chief Minister Digambar Kamat, who took the Congress party to the trough in Goa, has said after joining the BJP that it was all due to the will of God. Digambar Kamat has said that before resigning from Congress, I had gone to the temple and asked God what should I do? So, God told me to do whatever is best for you, just then I thought it right to resign.

Digambar Kamat was responding to media queries on what happened when Congress candidates were administered loyalty pledges at a temple and church earlier this year ahead of the Goa Assembly elections. So, in response to this, Kamat said that whatever has happened has happened only by the will of God.

Digambar Kamat is a former Chief Minister of Goa who along with 7 MLAs left Congress and joined BJP on Wednesday. After the departure of eight MLAs from the Congress, the condition of the party in Goa has become very bad. Till now Congress had 11 MLAs, but now this number is reduced to just 3 in the assembly. The BJP now has 28 seats in the 40-seat Goa Legislative Assembly.

Those who left Congress and joined BJP include former CM Digambar Kamat, Michael Lobo, D Lobo, Rajesh Faldesai, Kedar Nayak, Sankalp Amonkar, Alexo Sikera and Rudolph Fernandes.
