Congress is touring India under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi. The party believes that this will strengthen its grip among the public and it will be able to give a tough challenge to the BJP in 2024, but the Goa Congress is going to suffer a major blow amid the yatra. Goa BJP State President Sadananda Tanawade on Wednesday claimed that 8 Congress MLAs may soon join their camp. If this happens, the Congress party in Goa will be on the verge of extinction.

The number of members of Goa Legislative Assembly is 40 and at present Congress has 11 and BJP has 20 MLAs. Let us tell you that in July 2019, 10 Congress MLAs joined the BJP together.

The Congress is going to suffer a setback in Goa at a time when Rahul Gandhi is on a 150-day tour of India. Today is the eighth day of Bharat Jodo Yatra and this yatra is proposed from Kanyakumari to Kashmir. It is significant that a few days ago the BJP had also given a blow to the JDU and many MLAs of the JDU in Goa had joined the BJP. At the same time, the state unit of Nitish’s JDU in Daman-Diu had completely joined the BJP.
