QUEPEM: Several Panches and prominent peoples representatives from Quepem constituency today joined the Congress. The Congress is confident of reclaiming the Quepem Constituency through its effortless rebuilding of the Quepem Block Congress led by Altone Dcosta.
The AICC Secretary Incharge Goa Desk Dinesh Gundu Rao, Prakash Rathod, Goa Incharge, Rajesh Gilani, AICC, President Goa Congress Girish Chodankar, Joe Dias, South Goa Congress Incharge, Altinho Gomes V.P., Yuri Alemao. M.K Shaikh, V.P., Altone Dcosta Spokesperson were present at the Quepem block meeting.
Panches who earlier were supporters of BJP namely Prabhakar Vaiz, Khola Panch, Burso Velip, Barcem Panch, Delfi Barbosa, Nakeri Panchayat, Sanzil Dcosta, Panch Fatorpa and others joined the Congress.
“Congress won with the blessings of Congress workers and people of Quepem, but the BJP has made Democracy in to a business by entering from backdoor and bribing the MLA’s and creating a manufactured majority to form Government” Dinesh Gundu Rao alleged.
“The MLA’s who quit did not have the courage to quit Congress and get elected on BJP ticket. They are prepared to come back to Congress if we get majority but, our doors are closed for all the ones who are traitors of Democracy. I am sure that the people will bless us with a healthy majority in Goa to form Government” Rao ensured.
“Real numbers of the Covid19 deaths in Goa are actually 10 times more. Even the Central Minister of BJP which is a Jhootha Party is lying that no one died due to deficiency of Oxygen” alleged Rao.
“Time has come to change the Government as the people are anguished. We need to work to tap and channelize this anger, be with people, talk to them to ensure win” advised Gundu Rao. He also said that the candidate should be from the people and the condition for ticket is work on the ground.
Prakash Rathod, the Goa Incharge of Congress said that people need to send a message to the people who dejected the people and the Congress to form the illicit government. “We need to teach a lesson to the ones who cheated the voter and we need to go door to door to make people aware about their act” said Rathod.
“Petrol, diesel, LPG is all time high, is this the acche din of Modi Ji? Rafael is the biggest scam of independent India and the BJP has to answer this. All women need to be answered about increase in Gas, edible oil prices. We need to decide and combat together the lies and division that the BJP created” said Prakash Rathod.
Altone Dcosta pointed out that 48 booths, committee’s have been constituted and also the booth level committees have been constituted. While thanking the Opposition leader and Congress for all the help Altone said “Youth in Quepem constituency are well educated but without jobs. 56% agriculturists in Quepem but No playgrounds, roads in Quepem constituency. Electricity, water, toilets, health and basic facilities are lacking” he pointed out.
“Congress will definitely form government in Goa but people of Quepem shouldn’t be ignored. Let’s stand with the Congress and we will get the party to power” he added.
While lauding the courage of the people of the Deputy Chief Ministers Constituency for having coming out in large numbers Girish Chodankar said that Quepem voters are emotional and if they are cheated they don’t pardon. They have the capacity to combat the cheaters and Congress will form its Government in February 2022. A people oriented corruption free Government will be formed by the Congress” he asserted.
Opposition Leader Digambar Kamat said that the government is trying to protect someone in the Siddhi Naik death case. He further said that the government has failed on all the fronts and it looks like the Quepem people have decided to re-elect Congress in the Quepem Constituency seventh time in row” said Digambar.
Leader of opposition is given to the person who does works responsibly. babu compromised and met Amit Shah and sold the people to Quepem. He went in the name of development but where is the development and jobs. Babu Kavlekar himself says that all his MLA ministers take money for jobs and development.
Joe Dias, South Goa Congress President said “Assembly elections are going to be held and the way Congress won in Quepem in past, the party will repeat it’s win. No one wants BJP in Goa as they were sleeping during the pandemic and now have waken up with lies” he said.
Altinho Gomes apologised to the people for having elected Congress MLA but went to BJP. “But, all the workers are with us. We will forget personal differences and get united now” he urged.
M. K. Shaikh, V.P Congress said that people thought Congress is finished in Quepem. But Altone reassured that the Congress is not finished and he assured of reviving the Congress. Altone built the Congress from booth level and we expect this kind of rebuilding happens in every constituency. Many prominent former and sitting politicians and panchayat members have started joining Congress. All thought that congress was over after the MLAs left. But until the Congress is in the hearts of people the party will never be finished” he said.
