Actress Poonam Pandey and her husband arrested in a case related to circulation of an obscene video.
A complaint was received from Water resources department on November 2, 2020 alleging circulation of a vulgar video shot at Chapoli Dam Canacona without any permission.
Accordingly a case u/s 294 IPC was registered initially against unknown person as the complaint didn’t name anyone nor attached any video clip with it.
During the investigation the alleged video clip was seized and relevant sections of IT Act, sections related to trespass and the Indecent representation of Women act were added to the case.
Actress Poonam Pandey was traced at a 5 five star hotel in Calangute and was served a notice u/s 41A CrPC to appear before the Canacona Police on 6th.
However during investigation it revealed that she had booked her ticket for Mumbai and was about to leave Goa today afternoon.
Today a team under the supervision of PI Cuncolim (holding additional charge of Cancona) detained Poonam Pandey and her husband at the hotel and brought to the Canacona PS.
After questioning both the actress and her husband have been arrested in the case. The investigation revealed that the couple had sneaked into the Dam during the early hours on Oct 31 where they shot the objectionable clip.
