Goa University has recently granted approval for the one-year post graduate diploma in translation programme at the Government College, Khandola from the academic year 2022-23. It will be the first of its kind in the state with an intake capacity of 20 students.
Purnakala Samant, Principal of Government College, Khandola, stated that, the course has been introduced to promote multidisciplinary approach keeping in line with recommendations of the new National Education Policy and syllabus has been designed by our college faculty Asha Gahlot. Students who has bachelor’s or master’s degree in Hindi, English, Kokani, or Marathi are eligible to enroll the programme. This program is designed with an aim to develop student’s ability to carry out literacy and official translations, enhance their multilingual skills, give them hands-on experience in translation, and train to them to use machine translation.
