SUPREME COURT UPHOLDS HC ORDER ON MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS

The Supreme Court today upheld the HC order which set aside the Municipal election in Goa. Supreme Court set aside the Special Leave Petition filed by the Government of Goa on ward reservation.

The SC upheld order of the High Court setting aside Municipal ward reservation notification of five Municipal Election.

The SC has directed the State election commission restart the complete election process and complete it till the stipulated date of April 30.

The Goa Forward Party along withe several others had filed a petition against the notification of Municipal Election reservations in the HC which ordered setting aside of the process. As an answer the Government of Goa filed a special leave petition which got defeated today.
