Voting for the post of Congress President is to be held today. For this, voting will start at 10 am today and will go on till 4 pm. There will be a total of 36 polling stations and 67 booths for this election. There will be one booth for every 200 voters. In this election, senior Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge and Shashi Tharoor are fighting for the top post of the party. The special thing is that this time after 24 years in Congress, someone from outside the Nehru-Gandhi family will become the president.

More than 9,000 representatives of Pradesh Congress Committees (PCCs) will elect the new president of the party through a secret ballot. Polling will be held at the party headquarters here and at more than 65 centers across the country. Elections are being held for the post of President for the sixth time in the 137-year history of the Congress. After the election for the post of Congress President on October 17, its results will be declared on October 19.
