CHANGE OF COMMAND AT COAST GUARD HEADQUARTERS, GOA

Vasco da Gama-The Indian Coast Guard Headquarters at Goa observed a change of helm as Dy Inspector General Himanshu Nautiyal relinquished command to Deputy Inspector General Arunabh Bose, TM. The incoming ICG Commander of Goa is a 1994 batch executive cadre officer and an accomplished Helicopter pilot with a seasoned log of incident free flying. A Qualified Flying Instructor, the Officer commanded the Coast Guard Air station at Chennai in his last appointment. An alumnus of College of Defence Management at Secunderabad, he also holds the distinction of Commanding various afloat and ashore assignments in his almost three decades of Coast Guard service.

The Officer is a recipient of Tatrakshak Medal (Gallantary) in 2014 for a Search & Rescue mission undertaken off Kerela coast, wherein as a helicopter pilot, he rescued 11 precious lives from a merchant vessel facing vagaries of nature. He has also been commended by the Director General Indian Coast Guard twice and by the Commander Coast Guard Region (West).
