Karnataka Commercial and Industrial Corporation Pvt. Ltd., (KCIC), the Beach Cleaning Agency of the Department of Tourism, Government of Goa has had its staffs working continuously and tirelessly, to clear the tar balls that have surfaced on the shores of Goa. Tar balls being of hazardous nature have to be handled with caution by the beach cleaning staffs. Further, with constant tides and monsoons, more and more tar balls keep getting washed ashore, even after cleaning is done. The manual clearing work of tar balls is in progress. KCIC has collected approximately 760 bags of tar balls from the beaches of North and South Goa in the last few days.
