The temple committee of Damodar Devasthan Zambaulim has decided not to celebrate the famous Gulalotsav, which is celebrated every year at the Shri Ramnath Damodar temple in Zambaulim, on the backdrop of the Corona epidemic this year.
Prakash Kunde, Chairman of the temple committee, said that the fairs during the Gulalotsava, as well as the Mahaprasad and cultural programs, were canceled this year in the public interest. Devotees from Goa as well as from outside Goa participate in this festival with great enthusiasm. Devotees throng the temple premises in large numbers for the Gulalotsava. Mr. Kunde, on behalf of the committee, said that devotees should co-operate with the decision, which was taken after considering the suggestions made by some senior persons and convincing the concerned so that the corona virus is not spread through the festival as it was impossible to maintain social distance.
