IFFI preparation deadline fixed in Goa: CM Sawant

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that the Goa government has set a deadline of November 15 for all its concerned departments to complete the work related to the International Film Festival of India (IFFI). Sawant said that since the 53rd edition of IFFI will start from November 20, all the departments including PWD, Police Department have been asked to complete the work at the earliest. He held a review meeting with these departments and directed them to complete the IFFI related works by the stipulated time frame. The Chief Minister said that the preparation review meeting with the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) would be held on November 7.

Sawant said that the invitations of the guests and other things are being finalised. He said, Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur is also reviewing with the concerned departments. This edition of IFFI will be celebrated with more enthusiasm after the COVID pandemic. The International Film Festival of India (IFFI), established in 1952, was first held in Goa in 2004 and Goa was declared the permanent venue for the festival in 2014.
