L K Advani, a BJP leader and former deputy prime minister, received the nation’s highest civilian award, the Bharat Ratna, from President Droupadi Murmu on Sunday at his Delhi home.
Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Advani’s family members were present during the event, according to a post on X from Rashtrapati Bhavan.

As the President presented the senior politician with a Bharat Ratna, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a seat beside Advani.

Advani, according to the Rashtrapati Bhavan, is a doyen of Indian politics who has distinguished himself and served the country for more than 70 years with unshakable commitment. It further highlighted that his focus on discourse enhanced legislative traditions.
