The Chairman of Tiatr Academy of Goa has assured to start staging tiatrs in Goa for public by Easter.
He was speaking during the Tiatr Academy of Goa organised Mhalgoddea Tiatristancho Bhovman (Felicitation of Tiatrists Function) at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao. He said that COVID-19 pandemic put a complete stop on staging tiatrs in Public. “We will attempt to start Tiatrs for public from Easter” he said.
The Deputy Chief Minister Chandrakant Babu Kavlekar said that the Tiatrs do their job of criticising the wrongdoings of the Government and requested the artists to continue doing that freely.
The Chairman of Ravindra Bhavan Damu Naik said that the Tiatrists in the past 150 years have sacrificed a lot with very low resources and have preserved the culture and Konkani language for one and half century. He said that these Tiatrists deserve the award.
Tiatrists Prince Jacob, Mario Menezes, Soccoro De St. Cruz and Kenneth Michael Zuzarte were felicitated and Awarded for their Lifetime Achievement in Tiatr (Commercial). Joao P Dias, Evagrio D’Souza and Lourenco Gracias were also awarded for their lifetime time contribution in Khell Tiatr.
