The Goa government is ready to get the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probed into the death of BJP leader and Tik-Tok star Sonali Phogat. Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Sunday said the case of actress Sonali Phogat’s death would be handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) if necessary.

CM Pramod Sawant also said, “Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar has spoken with me and requested a thorough probe into the matter. He wants CBI to handle the matter as Phogat’s family members have also requested to do the same by personally meeting him.” Clearing the CBI probe in the matter and showing his support for the investigation, Sawant said, “If need be, the Goa government will hand over the matter to the CBI for further investigation.”

Earlier, Anjuna police arrested another drug smuggler Rama Mandrekar. This is the fifth arrest in this case. Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar had assured Sonali Phogat’s family of a CBI inquiry into the death of the actress. Phogat’s sister Rupesh Phogat gave this information after meeting CM Khattar in Chandigarh.
