Administration Covid19 Pandemic

The Margao Municipal Council (MMC) Chief Officer (CO) Agnelo Fernandes has appealed to Doctors of the IMA from Margao to consider offering their services to the two proposed Covid care centres at Fatorda and Margao to be commissioned shortly.

The CO in his appeal has said that the ferocity of the second covid wave was unexpected and unseen and as such Citizens are caught unawares.

In circumstances like these, the CO has knocked the doors of the Government to allow him to open two covid centres at the Manohar Parrikar indoor stadium, Margao and at the Badminton indoor stadium at Jawaharlal Nehru stadium, Fatorda.

Apart from other initiatives, the CO has initiated to reach out to Madgaonkars during this time of distress through his campaign – Together, We Can as a team initiative appealing to a cross section of society in Margao to assist along with the government in every possible way.

“Let us reach out to them save lives as much as possible”, added Fernandes. Both the Covid Care centres will be commissioned shortly he said. My sincere appeal goes to every Doctor of Margao to give back to society little time they received from Margao. Offer your one hour to this proposed centre. We can together bring cheer to our people.

The aim of these two proposed centre is to provide an isolation and care facility for mild Covid positive citizens of Margao and Fatorda who may not require intensive care but find it difficult to isolate at their Home and for those who requires constant supervision by Health professional. If this centres are opened others hospitals can concentrate on serious cases in ESI and SGDH.

Serious patients can have more access to these Specialised Hospitals which in turn will save more lives he said. There are about 350 IMA Doctors from Margao who are requested to help in this need of hour. Many Councillors and Philantropist have assure whole hearted support to the Chief Officer
