Many roads in Calangute are damaged with big potholes this year due to heavy rain. One of the worst affected roads is between the market and football ground that is used frequently to reach the popular beaches.
The roads which were not hotmixed before the monsoon are worst affected, says residents. Due to these potholes, many bikers have faced accidents and many have suffered serious injuries, another local added. Due to absence of elected panchayat members, nobody is there to take responsibility of the repairs of the roads.
Many residents use these roads to drop children to school. To avoid any mishap, they filled those potholes with mud and stones without waiting for officials to do it. Locals requested authorities to at least fill these potholes with rubble to avoid any major incidents.
