Cultural Religious Social

The traditional paths leading to both, the historic fort of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Shri. Raakhandev Temple which is the seat of faith of the locals, at Betul has been allegedly obstructed by the owner of the place by constructing a fence. This has resulted in severe discontent among the devotees and the followers of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

The Hindu Janajagruti Samiti has, through a memorandum, appealed to the CM to open this traditional path with immediate effect. The said memorandum states that, since the traditional path leading to the historic fort of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at Betul and the Raakhandev Temple has been obstructed, neither can Shiv-premis and tourists visit the fort nor can the local devotees visit the temple!

The State Administration should take initiative to preserve this ancient fort and provide necessary basic amenities for the devotees. The State Government should instruct the Archaeological Survey of India to preserve this historic fort. A copy of this memorandum will be given to the local MLA and DyCM Shri. Babu Kavalekar, South Goa Collector, Captain of Ports and Sarpanch Of Nakeri Panchayat.
