The traffic department of Canacona has booked 12665 motor vehicle violations and collected around 37 Lakhs in fine from January to June. The statistics collected again proved that two-wheeler riders are not serious to wear helmet as helmet violations topped the list with 3632 cases. The respective traffic cell presented the detailed statistics of violations to public as follows:

- Improper number plate – 360
- Dazzling lights – 351
- Projection of load – 315
- Absence of tarpaulin – 230
- Carrying excess rider – 216
- NO rear mirror – 177
- Carrying Passenger in cabin – 149
- No proper lights – 127
- Nu number plate – 80
- Driving without license – 77
- Violation of traffic signal – 68
- Using mobile while driving – 44
- Driving under Influence of alcohol – 39
Those who have found with multiple violations, their licenses are sent to transport department for suspension, count is close to 500.
