Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Monday assured action in the House against those responsible for supplying rice infected with insects, weevils, and fungus in the month of May. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that a committee has been formed to investigate the matter. Congress MLA Carlos Ferreira and Goa Forward MLA Vijay Sardesai raised the issue in the ongoing assembly session. Civil Supplies Minister Ravi Naik, replying to the questions raised by the legislators, told the House that the rice sacks were replaced soon after the matter was brought to its notice. Naik said, “We immediately replaced that rice. The matter of negligence is being probed.”
